Up for bids is a great, rare, mono Jazz LP by the Yusef Lateef Quintet called "The Sounds Of Lateef". Prestige Records. PRLP 7029. 1956.RARE ORIGINAL PRESSING!
YELLOW COVER. PROBABLY PRESSED ANYWHERE FROM LATE 1956 TO 1957.
DEEP GROOVE PRESSING!
YELLOW LABELS WITH "446 W. 50th ST., N.Y.C." ADDRESS ON BOTH!Both sides' Trail-Off's have the etched "RVG"!
Front of cover is slightly laminated.
BACK OF COVER HAS "447 West 50th Street, New York 19, N.Y." ADDRESS, BOTTOM-RIGHT!
Record's edges are raised.
Comes with plastic sack inner sleeve in VG+ condition (record will be shipped in separate polylined sleeve and outside cover).
NOTE:
The grades I use are Mint (rarely used grade), Near Mint, VG+++ (rarely used grade), VG++, VG+, VG, VG Minus, Good+, Good, Fair and Poor.
Cover is in a STRONG VG+ condition. Front has some minor wear. Back of cover has some wear. Cover has a slight curve to it. Top and bottom both have marks all the way across from removed dried-up tape. All sides are completely intact! How about that spine photo! No splits at all! Strong and sturdy, this is still a prime example of this cover!
I would rate the record’s condition as a VG+ to VG++. Looks gorgeous with some superficial marks that do not affect play. A little surface noise at times, but not much wear at all! Record still sounds amazing on my player! GOD BLESS PRESTIGE & VAN GELDER!
