Description
You are looking at a vintage lp. It says Prestige HI-FI LP 7047 in the right hand corner. It is called TENOR MADNESS, by the Sonny Rollins Quartet. The quartet is listed as Red Garland, Paul Chambers, "Philly" Joe Jones and John Coltrane as Guest. The cover is in near perfect condition, front and back. I do not know what collectors are looking for, so I will describe it as I see it. No rips or tears in any of the seams, where they normally seem to rip from the record edges. The 2 left corners are very slightly indented. On the back left hand corner is the initials RB in very small letters. The songs on the album are Paul's Pal, My Reverie, The Most Beautiful girl in the World. Other Side is Tenor Madness and When Your Lover has Gone. This thing is old! The record itself looks very good. It needs cleaned but I will leave that to some one who knows what they are doing. On the back of the album cover are notes by Ira Gitler, talking about The Miles Davis Group, and Sonny Rollins, which I found very interesting. He also states that on this album John Coltrane takes his first solo and leads off on all chases. I am amazed at how good of shape this entire piece is in! Another album, that was not in as good as shape as this one, ended at almost $60.00 on the same day I listed this one, so this is a VERY low starting bid. I promise you will be thrilled with the shape this cover and the LP itself are in. I am always happy to answer any questions.
