ON TO SOME GOOD JAZZ ITEMS!! This is a reasonably priced ORIGINAL 1961 U.S. PRESTIGE MONO PRESSING OF THE 1961 LP titled 'Sonny Boy', featuring tenor sax man Sonny Rollins and a stellar combo. It is Prestige Records catalog number 7207, original 1961 deep groove pressing, yellow labels with black print, Bergenfield NJ address on the labels and the back cover, RVG machine stamp in the runout area. Personnel: Sonny Rollins-tenor sax / Kenny Drew & Wade Legge-piano / George Morrow-bass / Max Roach-drums / Kenny Dorham-trumpet / . Tracks: Ee-Ah, B. Quick, B. Swift, The House I Live In, Sonny Boy. Visual condition of record is a real nice high VG++ with a very few light surface marks, none of which can be felt and none of which affect play. There are a couple of small bumps in the play surface which are a slight manufacturing defect, and which will cause a slight background bumping sound for a couple of revolutions each - Overall this record is a real good player with a little bit of light scattered surface noise and the aforementioned few bumping sounds. Labels have no real problems. Condition of cover is conservatively a mid VG+ with a small square price sticker affixed to the back cover at the upper right corner, a little age discoloration, a couple of light stains, some contact wear, and some general wear and a little bit of flaking along the edges of the cover and the back cover slick and on the corners. Cover has no splits or tears. This original 1961 mono LP would be a choice addition to any modern jazz record collection!
