·       (PLEASE DISREGARD SMALL “STEREO”  BANNER PRINTED ON THE COVER: ALL COPIES OF THIS ALBUM PLAY MONO IRRESPECTIVE OF WHAT THE COVER AND THE LABEL MAY SAY).

·       THE ONLY SAM COOKE ALBUM RELEASED ON SPECIALTY LABEL IN HIS LIFETIME

·       PLEASE NOTE: IN 1968 SPECIALTY CHANGED THE LOGO AND REPLACED THEM ON THE NEW RELEASES AND REISSUES. HOWEVER, THE LOGO WAS CHANGED ON COVERS EARLIER THAN THE LABELS WERE REPLACED. RESULTING IN A 2-YEAR “GAP” (1968-1970) DURING WHICH ORIGINAL RECORDS (GOLD AND BLACK LABELS) WERE PACKAGED IN LATER COVERS. IT IS POSSIBLE – NOT LIKELY, MERELY POSSIBLE – THAT THIS SEALED ALBUM IS ONE OF THEM, AND THAT YOU WILL FIND INSIDE THIS SEALED ALBUM THE ORIGINAL GOLD AND BLACK LABEL.  HOWEVER, WE CAUTION THAT THE ODDS ARE FAIRLY SLIM – PROBABLY NOT HIGHER THAN 20% AT BEST.

·       BELIEVED TO BE AN EARLY PRESSING CIRCA 1970 ON BLACK AND WHITE ‘YIN-AND-YANG’ SPECIALTY LABEL, ALTHOUGH THIS MIGHT ALSO BE ORIGINAL BLACK AND GOLD SPECIALTY LABEL

(b)          The record is apparently pressed on a beautiful, thick, inflexible vinyl, which was usually used for the first or very early pressings. Usually, the sound on such thick vinyl pressings is full-bodied, vivid, and even dramatic. Do not expect to obtain such a majestic analog sound from a digital recording!

(c)           Of course, this is a full-bodied ANALOG recording, and not an inferior, digital recording!!!
