Description

Very rare original first pressing release of The Special A.K.A. with “Gangsters”, vs. The Selecter with “The Selecter” on the B side. First release on the “2 tone” label from 1979. This is the pressing sold by the band members themselves before it was played by John Peel on BBC radio. This record was first distributed by Rough Trade. The paper sleeve is the thing that distinguishes this copy from the others. Only the first copies came with this very rare sleeve, hand stamped by the band!

A classic! Now extremely hard to find and a true collectors item! Over the years only a few copies of this (stamped sleeved) record were auctioned on Ebay. The cover is a little brown on the fringes with age, but there are no rips or tears (at least VG+). The record itself is excellent!
