SPIROGYRA – BELLS BOOTS & SHAMBLES Mega Rare 1st UK

Mega Rare UK Original.

1973 first UK pressing: Spirogyra – "Bells, Boots and Shambles" on stereo Polydor label, catalogue number 2310 – 246. Stamped matrix numbers 2310246 A/4 8 and 2310246 B/3 11 with "PORKY" scratched into run-off on Side A and "LET THE BRAIN TAKE THE STRAIN" scratched into Side B run-off.

Spirogyra are Barbara Gaskin (vocals), Martin Cockerham (vocals, guitar) with Steve Ashley (whistle), Steve Borrill (bass), John Boyce (cello), Julian Cusack (piano, violin), Henry Lowther (trumpet), Dave Mattacks (drums) Stan Sulzman (flute).

Tracks are (side A): The Furthest Point, Old Boot Wine, Parallel Lines Never Separate, Spiggly; (side B): An Everyday Consumption Song, The Sergeant Says, In the Western World (Jungle lore, Coming back, Western world reprise).

The disc is in great clean and shiny condition; there are 2 very light ticks on side A track 4, from a faint hairline mark. On side B there is a 2mm inaudible mark on track 5. The semi-matt card sleeve has a 3cm split on top edge plus edge/corner wear and creasing and record impress.
