Description
I am selling a UK original pressing of 'Bells, Boots and Shambles' by Spirogyra on the Polydor label. This record very rarely comes up for sale, and clean-playing copies are particularly hard to find.
Cover:
The front of the cover is relatively clean with just a hint of ringwear near the top seam – across the letters R, O, G and Y of “SPIROGYRA” - and a couple of creases near the bottom left corner.
The rear is also relatively clean. The only real signs of wear that I can see are a crease in the bottom left corner and perhaps just a hint of ringwear across the “SPIROGYRA” lettering and some light rubbing near the bottom seam. There are no seam splits. The spine is clean – slightly squashed, but with all text legible. The bottom seam has some rubbing at the corners, but the top seam is relatively clean.
Inner Sleeve:Comes complete with the original poly-lined inner sleeve with blue “PLASTIC BAGS CAN BE DANGEROUS” text and with the correct ‘305’ (1973) date code. There is some general age-staining and a couple of small tears around the die-cut label window, but all seams are intact.
Vinyl:
Side A of the record is clean and looks near-mint. The labels are also clean and do not show any signs of spindle wear.
Side B has three small marks near the outer edge of the record. They look like finger-nail marks, but the good news is that they are non-sounding and do not affect playback. Again,the label shows no signs of spindle wear evidencing that this record has had very little play.
Playback on both sides A and B is loud and clear – no loud pops, skips or background crackle.
