This is the original 1975 debut release, recorded at FESTIVAL STUDIOS in Australia, and produced by DAVID RUSSELL & SPLIT ENZ. In 1976, six tracks that were first recorded for Mental Notes (four of which, "Walking Down A Road", "Titus", "Stranger Than Fiction" and "Time For A Change", appeared on this album) were re-recorded in Britain, along with three new songs, for Split Enz' second release SPLIT ENZ - SECOND THOUGHTS; PRODUCED BY PHIL MANZANERA, which was released outside Australasia as "Mental Notes".
