Description
SR 90303, DVORAK / BRUCH, Violoncello Concerto / Kol Nidrei, Janos Starker (Cello) / Dorati, London Symphony Orchestra, RFR2/RFR2, WHITE PROMO label: This is NOT a reissue – it is the original 50+ year old, WHITE PROMO pressing. It is one of the great Mercuries - known for both it's sound and interpretation. It spent many years on HP's TAS Super Disk List and also on Sid Marks’ final summary of the best Living Presence recordings. The cello sound is magnificent - warm, detailed and lifelike. This is my own personal copy, and the vinyl surfaces are clean, glossy and exceptionally quiet except for 4 tics on side 1 and 1 tic on side 2. There are no marks on the vinyl - it is perfectly clean. I am grading the vinyl as EX only due to the 5 tics. The labels are white promo with the words “For broadcast only, not for sale” at the bottom. They are clean with no marks. The jacket is clean and grades NM, as does the inner sleeve which is the original. Overall, this is beautiful promo copy of this wonderful golden age recording. It plays almost perfectly, except for the 5 tics noted above. Feel free to return for full refund if not completely satisfied. Shipping is free anywhere in the continental US. Outside of the US, buyer pays shipping through eBay's international shipping program.
