SRC “Milestones” 1969 Detroit Acid Fuzz Psych CAPITOL TARGET LABEL lp M-

1971/Canada/Capitol Records ST-134….. here's a clean and rare Canadian label Variation of their second psych lp. This copy is pressed on Capitol's 3rd issue label for this lp. I have seen this lp released on the Canadian Rainbow and Green Target labels but never this red target label variation. The cover is in Excellent condition with light shelf wear at the top mainly on the back, slight corner tip wear, otherwise the cover is solid and clean with no splits or delete. The vinyl is in glossy M- condition and looks and plays clean with the exception of just a bit of very light spotty backround noise during "In the Hall of the Mountain King/Bolero". SRC's second album isn't radically different from their debut, but it certainly captures the group in more comfortable and energized form. Rather than go back into the studio, the members of SRC used their recording advance to build a recording setup in their rehearsal space, and on Milestones, the group seems more willing to push the songs in a harder and faster direction without losing touch with their psychedelic and progressive influences. Gary Quackenbush steps farther into the forefront with his lead guitar on Milestones, demonstrating why he was one of the most acclaimed soloists on the Detroit scene in the 1960s, and he bounces his lines off keyboard man Glenn Quackenbush and rhythm guitarist Steve Lyman with skill and fire. Scott Richardson's vocals are also in excellent form on this album, and he performs with greater passion and increased imagination on SRC's second effort, though he can't quite overcome some of the lesser material. And SRC were writing songs with a harder and more physical edge for Milestones, most notably "Checkmate" and "No Secret Destination," in many respects, Milestones was an experiment, it was a successful one, though it unfortunately didn't sell as well as the first album, leading to the first steps toward SRC's eventual breakup.

MINT: as stated with no defects

NEAR MINT: as stated near Mint!, or Mint Minus, same thing, very clean with no defect to sound or visual appearance, one scuff or mark may be permitted but it will be mentioned in the description, a near Mint record looks and plays very clean

EXCELLENT: not much below near Mint, may have a delete hole and/or a minor defect or two not visually detracting from the cover, the vinyl will appear shiny and in clean condition with very minor defects not affecting the sound, still very clean and very collectable!

VG++ still a very nice copy with minimal cover wear and/or delete/splits, still visually appealing, the vinyl will retain it's original gloss and can have some minor scuffs/scratches that don't affect play very much

VG+ a little more cover/ring wear and delete, splits etc., the vinyl will still retain much original gloss with a bit more scuffs and/or scratches I may list a very rare or desirable item with a lower grade, I will try to list all defects, both cover and vinyl no matter the condition.
