PLEASE READ BEFORE BIDDING: Please read the entire auction listing, including shipping costs, before writing to ask a question. OUR GOAL IS CUSTOMER SATISFACTION. In order to meet that goal, we will ALWAYS work with our customers on any concerns that may arise. In the unlikely instance that you feel the need to open a resolution dispute before working with us, you will immediately be blocked from any further chance to acquire the rare music we present each and every week. Payment is required within seven days. We mail all paid items ONE WEEK after auctions end. Please keep in mind our listings are time consuming in detail and we are often traveling to find these gems, which at times delays the delivery schedule by a day or two. We ALWAYS process and ship every paid order. We have no control over parcels once they are mailed from our local Post Office. Overseas mail to some countries (Italy, Russia, France, in particular) has became very slow. Opening a dispute for slow mail is unacceptable and will result in blocking the bidder. We work hard to provide excellent service as is represented by our 8000 plus positive feedback. We use a VPI machine and thoroughly clean all records. Each order is carefully packaged by removing the LP from the jacket to avoid seam splits, use of 3 ml plastic cover sleeves over each LP and jacket, cardboard pad inserts, and placed in sturdy record mailers for safe delivery. We take Customer Service seriously, and want you to be satisfied. TOTALLY UNDOCUMENTED / UNKNOWN "VIVA RECORDS" RELEASE FROM 1969 ...
The custom cover art design is unique to only this release. The BACK cover is sideways so the pocket opening is at the bottom, not the side (see photo #2) ...
Perhaps the GREATEST of all MOnkees album as well as clearly the rarest::::
Appearing as a minuscule pressing after the cancellation of the Monkees's TV series in 1969, this unique set remains one of the rarest pieces of vinyl in the Monkees discography and potentially in all of rock, by a major band.
After a commercially unsuccessful movie, Head, from the previous winter, the VIVA record company tried to revive waning interest in the Monkees, but to no avail. The band was now down to a trio with the departure of Peter Tork, before disappearing completely.
All of the A-sides to the band's first six singles were chosen for this release. The Pisces, Aquarius, Capricorn & Jones Ltd. stereo mix of "Pleasant Valley Sunday" was included instead of the single mono mix. This album also features the LP debut, as well as the stereo debut of "A Little Bit Me, a Little Bit You" without handclaps and with Davy Jones singing "Oh girl, oh girl" during the instrumental section which is not present in the mono single version.
Some of the tracks make for curious choices since none of them were hit singles or B-sides in America. "Randy Scouse Git" was issued as a single in England and reached #2 on the UK charts (as "Alternate Title"). "She" was released in Mexico... while tracks like "Lets Dance On", "You Told Me", Mr Webster, and "For Pete's Sake" were not hits at all, rather obscurities by the famed hit machine....
Also unusual is the complete exclusion of any songs sung by Mike Nesmith, who was still with the group at the time of this release.

CONDITION: The cover: rated: Very thin cover has a sleek shiny finish, "EX" (excellent) front and VG++ back, overall clean and presentable, definitely collection worthy with no upgrade necessary (good luck finding another copy anyway - you won't) ... still has a fresh appearance after 48 years -- there are no delete marks, no split seams, and no writing ... VERY collection worthy ...
by the way -- the back cover is constructed sideways, the pocket opening comes out the bottom if you hold the cover in normal upright position
