Description
For auction is STAN LEVEY's "Grand Stan," on Bethlehem BCP 71, MONO, DG, 1957.
SOUND: VG+
It has been machine-cleaned and I listened to both sides completely. Overall, great sound! The only caveat is Side B2, "Blues At Sunrise," which suffers from little bit of static and clicks. Nothing overpowering, but I must mention it. The rest of the record is delightful!
VINYL: VG
Visually, the vinyl has faint scuffs or scratches, nothing that looks deep. The B2 grooves, mentioned above, have the most. Still, nothing I can "feel." The record has deep-grooves, maroon labels with silver lettering.
COVER: VG+ or better
The cover is very nice. The edges are solid all around, with the exception of 1/2-inch split bottom right. The corners have minor wear/softening. The front glossy cover is very nice and clean with little wear. The back is also quite clean, with routine age-spots.
The photos are of the exact record up for bids. Look before you bid, ask if you want any additional info or pics.
Overall, a nice record that sounds great. Beautiful cover. No reserve, bidding starts at $10.
Every record I auction has been cleaned on a Nitty Gritty vacuum/cleaner. I played every record to determine if there are static, tics, pops, hisses, what have you. I endeavor to thoroughly report any extraneous audio "noise" or problems of any significance. Other than that, I will report on the general condition of each record, both vinyl and jacket, according to Goldmine standards, to the best of my ability.
Every record is put into a new, clean sleeve insert. In the case of an interesting original sleeve insert, I'll include that in the sale.
If you're into this stuff, you might want to save me to your seller's list and check back periodically. I'll be putting a lot of vintage jazz records up for auction.
