Description
STANLEY TURRENTINE – A CHIP OFF THE OLD BLOCK – BLUE NOTE 4150 – EX/EX – NEW YORK – MONO
Recorded at Van Gelder’s studio on October 21, 1963, this Blue Note session features Stanley Turrentine on tenor, Blue Mitchell on trumpet, Shirley Scott on organ, Earl May on bass and Al Harewood on drums. Side 1: ONE O’CLOCK JUMP and MIDNIGHT BLUE. SIDE 2: BLUES IN HOSS’ FLAT; SPRING CAN REALLY HANG YOU UP THE MOST and CHERRY POINT. In the blank vinyl, there are an EAR and “VAN GELDER” on both sides of the vinyl. This pressing has “NEW YORK U.S.A” on the label. It is a MONO recording.
I’ve graded both the LP and the record jacket as EX for the following reasons. The vinyl on Side 1 is clean on any marks. On Side 2, Cut 1, there is a scuff, which is on the surface and doesn’t interfere with play and has no noise when played. There is little to no wear in or around the spindle hole on either side of the LP. The record jacket is in excellent condition, except that there are the times of play written in ink on the liner notes. The bottom left corner is slightly bent. If you have any questions, please email me and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Thanks.
PAYMENT & SHIPPING
Satisfaction guaranteed on item. I regret that the USPS has raised their prices. The LP will be well packed. Fully packed in a crush proof box, it weighs 1.8 pounds. Due to increased cost, I have to charge an additional $1.00 for packing in the crush proof box. Believe me, it’s worth it! The method of payment is PayPal. As of October 20, 2008, eBay has decided to make PayPal the only method of payment for this item! This way, eBay has you coming and going! If you are a bidder who prefers to pay by other means, I suggest that you file a complaint! I regret the inconvenience. The LP will be shipped either by Media Rate @ $3.17 or by Priority Mail @ $5.80 and up depending where you reside. Overseas bidders should consider First Class Mail International. The cost to Europe and Asia begins at $21.60 in the crush proof box. It’s worth it! USPS has hammered overseas shipping!
