FOR THE NEXT COUPLE OF DAYS I WILL BE LISTING A FEW MORE COLLECTABLE 45s, MAINLY 1970s-ERA PHIL SPECTOR-RELATED, THEN I WILL BE SWITCHING TO OTHER LPs - IF YOU COLLECT 45s KEEP WATCHING MY AUCTIONS! - I WILL COMBINE SHIPPING IF YOU WIN TWO OR MORE OF MY ITEMS! This is an ORIGINAL PRIVATELY PRODUCED 1976 U.S. STARS IN THE SKY RECORDS 45 containing the songs titled 'Baby Hold On'/'Love (What A Feeling)' from Stars In The Sky with The Milky Way Band. It is Stars In The Sky Records catalog number STARS-101, and appears to be a RARE ITEM which has not been offered on eBay either at auction or at fixed price sale suring the past month as far as I can tell. From what I have been able to gather reading various Internet blogs and websites, Stars In The Sky was the project of Dan and David Kessel, the sons of veteran jazz guitarist Barney Kessel, who was also one of the regular members of Phil Spector's 'Wrecking Crew', the creators of the legendary 'Wall Of Sound' that graced Phil Spector's legendary 1960s Philles Records hits. Released in 1976 at the beginning of the 'power pop' revival of the late 1970s and at the height of interest in all things 1960s, the A-side 'Baby Hold On' has a distinct Dwight Twilley type of power pop influence, and the B-side 'Love (What A Feeling) has a definite Spector flavor. Bomp Records licensed and re-released 'Baby Hold On' in a couple of their compilations under the artist name The Martians, making this original 45 a sought-after slice of scarce 1970s power pop. Condition of vinyl is a SOLID NM with no visible surface marks. Labels have a minute amount of contact wear, no other flaws. A rare and sought-after addition to any power pop or Phil Spector-related record collection!
