Description
Original copy of this rare soul “various artists” LP featuring top name artists on the STAX/VOLT label, from 1967.
Title is “STAY IN SCHOOL – DON’T BE A DROP OUT.”
Catalog number is STAX A-11, stereo pressing.
This was a special release issued in extremely limited quantities – not sold in stores, for the purpose of having popular Stax/Volt artists deliver a message to youth about the importance of getting an education. On the reverse along with the liner notes is an “open letter to young people from Vice President Hubert H. Humphrey” helping to underscore this message.

Jacket: Jacket is in nice VG to VG+ shape, with a few obvious flaws. There is some cracking along the bottom seam, and the bottom right corner is slightly chipped. There is a small bend at top left corner, and some general minor surface wear. No writing or stickers. Overall a very serviceable jacket with no major problems.
Vinyl: Same as the jacket, the vinyl has seen some careless handling and in the process has picked up some scuffs and hairlines. It retains nearly 100% of the original gloss, and actually plays very nicely with excellent fidelity. There will be an occasional audible soft tic, but overall the listening experience is very enjoyable. I have provided sound clips of the first segment on each side so you can get an idea of the sound quality and content.
