Description

  • Stephen Stills continued his solo career in April 1972 by introducing his new band "Manassas" with a double album on Atlantic Records. Stills is joined by Chris Hillman, Dallas Taylor, Paul Harris, Fuzzy Samuels, Al Perkins, and Joe Lala on the album. Jerry Garcia, Byron Berline, and Bill Wyman also make guest appearances. It proved to be a commercial success with the hit single "It Doesn't Matter" and peaked at No. 4 on the U.S. album charts.

  • This copy (SD 2-903) is from the first pressing and is in excellent condition. The gatefold cover still has its original factory shrink wrap and easily grades VG+ along with the pristine two-sided 38" x 19" Lyrics and Photo Poster insert and two Color Headshot Inner Sleeves. Please see the photos, but note the photo of the interior gatefold is from another copy. The disc test plays cleanly and is also VG+ which is as high as I go on vintage vinyl.  It was recorded and mixed at Criteria Sound Studios in Miami and was pressed at the Columbia Records plant in Santa Maria, Calif. The Side 1 dead wax is etched ST-A-722471-F CSM AT PR (CO-SM).

  • In addition to its original packaging, this album will come with a high quality Anti-Static Round Bottom Inner Sleeve to hold the vinyl disc and a sturdy 3 mil. polyethylene Archival Quality Outer Sleeve.

  • Free shipping is included in the special corrugated album mailer seen in the last picture.

  • This vintage 12" vinyl album has been sitting upright on a shelf in climate controlled storage for the past 49 years. It has not been played in decades other than a quick test spin for this sale which found no skips or obvious flaws. Like all used records it should be cleaned and wiped with an anti-static brush to minimize the occasional pops that are part of playing vinyl albums. Buyers should note that this is a well-cared for but used record and it will have some minor imperfections.
