Amid all the hyper-media frenzy covering the Mike Jackson death, it was largely unreported that Sky Saxon, vocalist of The Seeds passed away on the same day as Jackson ...a more importantly sad loss (!) as Sky was still touring and soon setting off on a nation wide super concert freaturing the Sky Saxon band, Love(John Echols) and The Electric Prunes ... Sky Saxon is remembered within several great records featuring his groundbreaking fuzz-punk band, The Seeds...here, the real deal...a genuine *STEREO* first pressing from 43 years ago and counting...
Primal punk garage blasts, filled with snotty vocals and raw cutting fuzz guitar... one of the leading raw punk renegade garage bands from the Hollywood California scene helping to spawn countless similar little garage punkers across the lands in the sixties!
As mid-'60s L.A. garage bands go, the Seeds were perhaps the most primitive, and cool as the rest. Whereas the Standells had good lyrics, the Leaves could write pop nuggets, and Love was gifted beyond comparison, Sky Saxon and The Seeds were raw and grinding. Their debut record is just that. It's comprised of snotty vocals over top of primitive farfisa organ reverb & fuzz guitar driving attacks which infuses in the listeners subconscious...terrific boy-girl 'get outta my life' songs that teeters on the edge ...theis, their first Lp contains the garage classic "Pushin' Too Hard". Not a bad track on either side, highlights galore include "Can't Seem to Make You Mine," which features a haunted-house guitar riff, The whining jangle "Try To Understand", The hard driving "Girl I Want You", the equally girating fuzz riffing "Evil Hoodoo" and all the rest alike! Pure garage punkers from Los Angeles in the sixties remaining a forever legend. Dig it.

CONDITION: The vinyl is CONDITION: The cover front cover is solid and stiff, "EX" (excellent) to M- top...with a small delete drill at top right... the back cover usually always shows some wear, even a little, this copy is better, clean so all-in-all you get a strong top level front & back 1966 stereo original with no seam splits, no writing ... a keeper collectible
The vinyl is all glossy and clean M- the grooves shine both sides, expect it to play very satisfying, enjoyable ...the labels are both clean
