UPDATE :- Haiti is back in the news as i'm sure you are all aware. Now they have a Cholera epidemic to contend with. Tent City didn't hold out too much against the Hurricane onslaught either. This is the record that started it all for Steve Earle. Pink & Black, a 4 song EP was released by Earle in 1982 on the independent Nashville lable LSI Records. The record features a rough rockabilly sound that showcased Earle's talent as both a songwriter and performer. The EP went through 3 pressings of 1,000 copies, with each pressing being a little different on the lable because of a mistake at the pressing plant. The first 1,000 was pressed up with the lable reading "LSI Recording". The second pressing of 1,000 simply labled "LSI" whilst the 3rd 1,000 labled "LSI Record" (This copy). This is the last of my "Pink & Black's", and the one that is probably the most desirous as this one is signed by Steve on the back of the sleeve. I have been buying on eBay now for many years and have over a thousand positive feedbacks. These are the first of very many items that i now want to sell. There is a reason why i have opened a new account with eBay to sell rather than use my existing account. I have in the last 6 months or so returned to my Christian belief. I want to follow what is scriptual in disposing of what, quite honestly, has been a bit of a millstone around my neck. One day i looked around at all the many thousand items that filled two rooms and came to a dawning realisation that i had no idea what 90% of all this stuff was. I mean, i could go and buy something, play it once, log it, and that was the last i ever saw of it. So, this has handed me a golden opportunity to turn around this situation into something positive. I'm not going to 'Bible bash' or 'rant and rave', I simply want you to understand my reasoning. With this in mind, i will leave it up to you to look up 2 sets of verses, if you want to. Matthew chapter 6 verses 1-4 explains my anonymity whilst Matthew chapter 19 verses 16-21 gives my explanation for giving the lot to the Haiti Lemon Aid Appeal. S O, D I G D E E P A N D B I D H I G H!!!! and keep watching as there lots of serious stuff to come (Unreleased Gram Parsons acetate, a couple of hundred Westwood one type radio shows, unreleased Townes Van Zandt acetate and hundreds more of similar ilk).
