Description
This is a fine original U.S. pressing copy of the third LP by the Steve Miller Band, released in 1969. Though best remembered for their string of '70s AM radio hits ("Fly Like an Eagle," "Rock'n Me," etc.), the group formed in San Francisco a decade earlier as the Steve Miller Blues Band. They debuted on vinyl in 1967 (as the Miller Band) backing Chuck Berry in a live recording at the Fillmore. 1968 saw the group release their first two LPs and contribute three tracks to the fine Revolution soundtrack (including a rocking version of "Mercury Blues"). By the time of their third LP, original member Boz Scaggs had left the group to pursue a successful solo career, but the LP is nonetheless similar to its predecessor in both sound and quality. Highlights include "Space Cowboy" and the rocking album closer, "My Dark Hour." The gatefold jacket is in fine overall condition with light ring wear and scuffing, light corner and spine wear, two small pin holes near one corner, and a former owner's initials written in pen on the back cover -- EX(-). The disc has some fingerprints, scuffing, and light scraping, and plays with some light surface noise (EX).
I’m in the process of selling off a large personal collection amassed over two decades. All discs have been stored in plastic lined inner sleeves separate from their jackets. The jackets have been stored in plastic sleeves. I have play graded (spot checked) discs except where otherwise noted.
