Description

Here is the extremely rare and virtually unknown 10" EP from Steve Walker called Tally Ho! It was self-released on his own Walker-Star Records in 1981. In true DIY fashion, the sleeve is just a 10" x 20" piece of paper that's folded, taped, and placed in a plastic sleeve. This is possibly the first or second rap record ever released on the West Coast. This is a disco-funk party anthem; the rapping is that great old-school "storytelling" style influenced by Rapper's Delight and the New York hip-hop pioneers of the day; the chants of "Tally Ho!" combined with the crazy-ass old school synth blasts make for one hell of a hook. There's a vocal and an instrumental mix of the song. This is definitely a rarity, and this should not to be missed by any fan of old-school rap! This is an old store stock copy - the sleeve is VG+ with just some ring indentation; the vinyl is NM and unplayed!
