Here we have a great copy (took me a while to hunt down a copy that played really well) of Steve Young's much under-rated cult classic LP 'Rock Salt & Nails' - released way back in 1969 on the A&M label. Well - what can be said about this 1969 outing from Steve - it is one of my all time favourite early country-rock classics, with superb stripped back production - Do your ears/all senses a favour - this sounds great on a turntable - feels like Steve is in the room with you! I would grade this LP in a conservative manner as sleeve: good - it has a slight split at the top right join otherwise great - nice thick cardboard! (look at the photo - you can see the overall package is well looked after) - the VINYL itself does have some very minor scuff surface marks BUT vinyl plays superb - this is a very clean copy. The LP has been safely stored and never really played much by me. All round a great copy of a record that has grown in stature over the years; it's Steve's favourite to this day and has GRAM PARSONS guesting on organ and GENE CLARK chipping in with harmonica - nice!
It pains me to be selling the best of my vinyl but..... I need further funds to get my own LP mastered and finished! Be sure to check my other listings for more tasty vinyl!
