INNERVISIONS -  The political undercurrents long simmering in Stevie Wonder's work reached their boiling point on the masterful Innervisions, a record as potent and insightful in its exploration of contemporary life as Marvin Gaye's What's Going On two years earlier. The opening "Too High," an acute condemnation of drug use, quickly establishes the record's forceful yet vibrant tone, which alternates between utopian dreamscapes("Visions") and tough minded realism ("Jesus Children of America"); the record is dueling concerns converge on the hit "Living for the City," which is both a brilliant examination of the myriad of social ills so endemic to the ghetto experience and a stirring celebration of African-American resilience. And on "Higher Ground," Wonder even points a finger at himself to detail a sinner's second chance at life, a song which took on even greater resonance in the wake of the car crash which nearly killed him just months after the release.

1.   Too High 2.   Visions 3.   Living for the City 4.   Golden Lady 5.   Higher Ground 6.   Jesus Children of America 7.   All in Love is Fair 8.   Don't You Worry 'Bout a Thing 9.   He's Misstra Know-It-All

SONGS IN THE KEY OF LIFE - MOTOWN RECORDS  - DOUBLE LP SET + 7 INCH SINGLE

To sing songs in the key of life, as the cover promises us, must be more of an exercise than a labor of love for a soul musician. But this album, which Stevie Wonder – just 26 years old – produced more or less on his own, turned out to be a raving success at the time. The collection of love songs, childhood recollections and ghetto scenes were considered to be the ultimate confirmation of his extraordinary talent according to People Magazine while Melody Maker considered the album to be the "most essential recording of the year." That this collection should be considered as a complete work of art is easy to understand when one has listened to it right through because it's not a collection of hits and "best-ofs," and one has the opportunity to make one's own choice of top hits. Each number is a unique musical jewel.

Stevie Wonder Fulfillingness' First Finale MFSL Numbered Limited Edition LP

Numbered, Limited Edition! Pressed at RTI!

Stevie Wonder Fulfillingness’ First Finale on Numbered Limited Edition LP from Mobile Fidelity Silver Label

Fourth in Wonder's Five-Album Series of "Classic Period" Records

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity’s World-Renowned Mastering System and Pressed at RTI: LP Bursts With Color, Tonality, Texture, and Openness

Wonder Probes Romantic Feelings and Features Jackson 5 and Other Soul Icons as Guests

Boogie on! Warm, personal, stripped-down, and mainly playful: Stevie Wonder’s Fulfillingness’ First Finale primarily finds the legendary vocalist tracing the arcs of relationships on a spirited record that has gone down in history as one of the most cohesive, fully realized soul sets ever made. The fourth in Wonder’s five-album series of “classic period” creations, the 1974 landmark won three major Grammy Awards: Album of the Year, Best Male Pop Vocal, and Best Male Rhythm and Blues Performance.

Indeed, there’s not one note out of place on the extraordinary ten-song set, notable for the way in which Wonder uses sparer arrangements to his advantage. Not that the overall tone is bleak or angry. Coming off of 1973’s socially biting Innervisions, Wonder intentionally returns to love-related fare here, investigating a surfeit of emotions involved with romance and passion. As had become his trademark, he handles a bulk of the songwriting, production, and performance chores but gets help from a few choice friends.

Appearances by singers Minnie Riperton, Paul Anka, Deniece Williams, and the Jackson 5 lend extra weight and breadth to the harmonies. Iconic Motown bassist James Jamerson and guitarist Sneaky Pete Kleinow lend instrumental support, but, as expected, Wonder is the center of his own universe. He nails the feelings of being in love, falling in it, realizing when it’s gone away, and wondering how to properly express it. Fulfillingness’ First Finale also benefits from Wonder’s continuing forays into social consciousness. The number-one smash “You Haven’t Done Nothin’” toasted the Nixon administration in classic style and bookends his previous topical cuts such as “Living for the City.”

Mastered on Mobile Fidelity’s world-renowned mastering system and pressed at RTI (America's best record plant), this numbered limited edition LP of Wonder’s seminal creation bursts with color, tonality, texture, and openness. Deep electronic grooves, lively percussion, gospel-sent backing vocals, and involving bass notes pour out like cleansing rain. Above all, Wonder’s mellifluous vocals soar, taking on an intimate quality rarely heard on any soul or pop record.

PLUS THE BONUS OF MUSIC OF MY MIND  TAMLA RECORDS T7-314R1 ISSUE

MUSIC OF MY MIND -

Stevie Wonder's MUSIC OF MY MIND was his first LP released under his revised contract with Motown, which enabled him a greater artistic freedom that produced some of the most widely acclaimed, innovative and inspired moments of the 1970s.

This album shows Wonder employing new technology to shape the music, creating the equivalent of a synth orchestra via overdubbing on many tracks (most notably the second part of the album's highlight "Superwoman"), whilst also beginning to utilize the talk-box on "Love Having You Around" and the Clavinet on tracks such as "Happier Than The Morning Sun" and "Keep On Running". With the exception of a excellent guitar contribution on "Superwoman" and a trombone solo on "Love Having You Around", Wonder provides his own band using overdubs, the results are groundbreaking.

STEVIE WONDER - CHARACTERS - Out of Print SEALED LP ORIGINAL MOTOWN/MCA 1987 CANADA RELEASE & IS SELLING FOR OVER A $100 IF YOU CAN STILL FIND ONE SEALED IN THE COLLECTORS MARKET.

CHARACTERS comes across right the first time you listen to it whether it is the soothing melody of social awareness that is found in "You Will Know"or the roaring umph that pulls the "Skeletons" out of your closet. “Each Beat Of My Heart” is another one of those beautiful love songs that will make you sing and cry - the kind of song played at a wedding. The collaboration with B.B.King on "Come Let Me Make Your Love Come Down" is rocking as is the hook-up with Michael Jackson on "Get it"

1. You Will Know 2. Dark 'N' Lovely 3. In Your Corner 4. With Each Beat of My Heart 5. One of a Kind 6. Skeletons 7. Get It - Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder 8. Galaxy Paradise 9. Cryin' Through the Night 10. Free

Stevie Wonder Tribute To Uncle Ray LIMITED EDITION Import LP

Tribute to Ray Charles Performed by a Then 11 Year Old Stevie Wonder!

Stevie Wonder's second LP, recorded when he was only 11 years old and released when he was 12, is a tribute to Ray Charles. As the original liner notes state, "Little Stevie Wonder, Tamla's 11-year-old musical genius, is blind, a similarity he shares with a famed musician and vocalist of today." Though this is perhaps not the most subtle of tribute albums and a clear cash in attempt from Motown, who were still looking for a way to market their new-found talent, the results are still fantastic. Little Stevie powers his way through a grip of Charles' classics as well as some original songs done in the "Charles style" and while the LP failed to score a hit, it's an enjoyable listen that shows a glimpse of the super star talent that was soon to emerge.
