ST.LOUIS UNION ' BEHIND THE DOOR ' / ' ENGLISH TEA '. VERY RARE ORIGINAL UK DECCA 7" SINGLE FROM 1966 . BOTH SIDES ARE GREAT MID 60'S PSYCH AND GROOVY MOD DANCER NUMBERS . THIS IS AN ESSENTIAL RECORD FOR ANY 60's MOD / PSYCH COLLECTOR AND A JUSTLY SOUGHT AFTER RECORD .
UK Decca Records . Cat # F12386 . Matrix XDRF - 37877 - T 1 - 1 C / XDRF - 37878 - T1 - 1 C . Issued 1966 . FANTASTIC and RARE Collectable Original UK issue of this legendary DOUBLE SIDED PSYCH / MOD DANCER Single . ST.LOUIS UNION ' Behind The Door ' / ' English Tea ' . Here is a copy of the 2nd St.Louis Union 45 ( of 3 on UK Decca ) . Both sides are BRILLIANT tracks , truly amongst the finest 45 releases from the golden year of 1966 . The 'A' side 'Behind The Door ' is a stunning , ahead of it's time flute / guitar inflected moody PSYCHEDELIC / POPSIKE track written by Graham Gouldman . On the other side is 'English Tea' a real HIP HAMMOND ORGAN / GROOVY GUITAR MOD DANCER INSTRUMENTAL which reminds one of WYNDER K.FROG .This is a KILLER 60's MOD DANCER . The records condition is EX / VG + with just some light surface noise during run in / out grooves , but overall the disc plays EXCELLENT . Their is a small tear on the 'A' side label (see scan) and a radio station stamp on the 'B' . A CLASSIC 60's 45 for sure and both sides still sound GREAT. This 45 has been in my private collection for over 30 years and will be sadly missed .
