Karleheinz Stockhausen "Spiral / Wach / Japan / Pole" 2LP box issued by EMI (1 C 165-02 313/14) in Germany, 1973. ****** 2xRec:m- / Box:vg- / Booklet:ex ****** Karleheinz Stockhausen here at his best and most experimental peak. This box set edition, complete with the large-size 8-page booklet, includes 2 different versions of "Spiral" (for Elektrochord and for Elektronium), "Pole" (for Elektronium and Elektrochord), "Japan" (for Elektronium, Elektrochord and percussion), and "Wach" (for Elektronium, elektrochord and percussion). Performed by Peter Eotvos, Christoph Caskel and Harald Boje. One of the rarest of Stockhausen items, these recordings (made at Abbey Road studios, engineered by Alan Parsons) have not been re-issued on the Stockhausen Verlag (the Eotvos/Boje versions of "Spiral" on the Verlag edition were subsequent recordings) and there are no plans to do so. Performers Peter Eotvos, Harold Boje & Christoph Caskel perform works by Karlheinz Stockhausen utilizing an Elektrochord, Elektronium, a shawm, a Japanese bamboo flute, text and a short-wave receiver. Highly recommended for anyone interested in electronic, experimental or improvised music. ****** Includes the original booklet. ****** The box has some wear, specially at the corners that has been reinforced with scotch (see photo).
