My Grading System
I aim to give an honest appraisal of the records I sell and use the Record Collection Magazine’s grading system. I do not attempt to sell records below the 'Good' level as, frankly, I wouldn’t want one myself. I still have a Dual turntable and play all the records I advertise before I list them.
Mint - Brand new with no surface marks and perfect sound quality. Cover and supplements are all in perfect condition.
Near Mint - Looks new, with no obvious marks on the surface, and no deterioration in sound quality. Should be difficult to tell that it has been played. Cover and supplements are all in near perfect condition.
Excellent - Noticeable that the record has been played but with very little change in sound quality. Cover and supplements may have some very slight marks.
Very Good - Obvious that the record has been well played, with the occasional mark or scratch, but with no major loss of sound quality. Cover and supplements subject to normal wear and tear.
Good - Record has been played such that the sound quality may have deteriorated slightly, with possibly some light, intermittent distortion or mild scratches. Cover and supplements maybe folded or scuffed or partially discoloured.
All 7" records come in an extra inner sleeve and are safely packaged and posted in stiffened cardboard.
