COMPLETE WITH THE ORIGINAL POLY-LINED INNER SLEEVE DATED OCTOBER 1971 ('1071')

This third album from Scotland's Stone the Crows was as close to hitting on all cylinders as they ever came in the studio.
With some personnel changes following Ode to John Law (a new bassist and keyboard player), they powered through the disc, with "Big Jim Salter," "I May Be Right I May Be Wrong," and their version of Dylan's "Don't Think Twice" being the absolute standouts.
The figureheads of vocalist Maggie Bell and guitarist Les Harvey had never sounded better as they worked in a pure rock vein, abandoning the blues aspect of their sound (Indeed, "Aileen Mochree" took them into Gaelic, a pleasant, brief side track) -- check "Mr. Wizard" to get a good picture of where they were really headed.
Stone the Crows were at their best here, and with this album they seemed truly poised to move up to the big time.

MAGGIE BELL - vocals
LES HARVEY - guitars, recorder
COIN ALLEN - percussion
RONNIE LEAHY - keyboards
STEVE THOMPSON - bass guitar

LABELS: NEAR MINT
Both labels are clean, bright and unmarked with barely a spindle trace to be seen
VINYL Visual: NEAR MINT
Both surfaces shine like new with nothing but a couple of harmless hairlines
VINYL Audio: NEAR MINT
Superb sound quality - strong, loud, deep, rich and warm (produced by Peter Grant) and my play-check at volume found no major issues of note.
No loud clicks, ticks or pops, just a little surface on some of the quietest sections but I did not clean this copy as it seemed unnecessary so these will no doubt disappear after a clean/few spins.
SLEEVE: EXCELLENT+
The gatefold is also in great condition with little to fault.
The edges as spine, where all text is clear and bold, have little wear to speak of. Just a soft crease to one corner
