Another from my personal collection of over 50,000 UK albums that I have accumulated over a period of more than 45 years or more! This is the earliest possible 1st UK Pressing of the Stray Mudanzas album released in 1973 very scarce and collectable to find in this tip top condition! A very under rated album in my opinion because it didn't sell that well when released. The audio quality is absolutely stunning through out this album. The vinyl looks and sounds like it has been barely ever played at all. The audio is graded as near mint cristal clear and very, very vibrant through out. There are no needle scratches or marks that would cause any loud annoying constant clicks or pops on this vinyl. The original 1st issue unlaminated gate fold cover is also in exceptional condition being stored in a case with the vinyl removed and separated from the cover for protection. This is how I have always stored my records! Cover is also graded at least excellent! A very collectable and sought after album especially in this condition!

Stray is an English hard rock band formed in 1966. Vocalist Steve Gadd (born 27 April 1952, Shepherd's Bush, London), guitarist Del Bromham (born Derek Roy Bromham, 25 November 1951, Acton, London), bass player Gary Giles (born Gary Stephen Giles, 23 February 1952, North Kensington, London) and drummer Steve Crutchley (born c 1952) formed the band whilst all were attending the Christopher Wren School in London. Richard "Ritchie" Cole (born 10 November 1951, Shepherd's Bush, London) replaced Crutchley in 1968.

They signed to Transatlantic Records in January 1970.

The group's brand of melodic, hook-laden hard rock proved to be a popular draw on the local club scene during the early 1970s. However the band did not have commercial success with its record releases. At one stage Charlie Kray (brother of the Kray twins Ronnie and Reggie), was their manager. Gadd left the band in 1975 due to artistic differences and was replaced on vocals by Pete Dyer.

The groups early musical style consisted of blues rock, acid rock and psychedelic rock. They then went on to join the hard rock and progressive rock movement.

The band served as the rhythm section alongside a string orchestra for the 1975 Jimmy Helms Pye Lp Songs I Sing.

The original Stray finally dissolved in 1977, although Bromham later continued to play in various resurrected versions of the project well into the 2000s.

There are two Iron Maiden connections to Stray. "All in Your Mind" from Stray's 1970 debut album was covered by Iron Maiden, and Maiden bassist Steve Harris's daughter Lauren has covered "Come On Over".

From late 2006 until early 2007, the band's back catalogue of eight studio albums issued originally during the 1970s, were re-released by the UK based Sanctuary Records in compact disc format. The new releases were remastered and had bonus tracks culled from single B-sides, studio outtakes and BBC broadcast sessions.

The Vinyl

This is the original thicker , heavier chunky slab of vinyl only found like this on the earliest original pressings! (Later press are much more flimsier and less robust)!

The vinyl lays perfectly flat on the turntable and is free of any warps. The vinyl has retained its original sheen from new in my opinion on initial inspection this looks like it has obviously not been played that much and in my opinion, at least there are no visable spider marks on the labels that I can see!! On close inspection any marks that could possibly be seen would be very light sleeve removal/scuffs only but importantly no audio sounding marks or needle marks that would cause any loud clicks or pops that I heard at all!

The audio quality

I have played this track for track at very loud volume prior to listing at very loud volume two times! From the moment that the needle hits the playing surface , it is obvious that this vinyl not only visually but audibly has only had very very minimal play only! The audio is stunning cristal clear and vibrant, very bright and clear throughout without any signs of distortion at all and plays with a lovely deep bassey feel only found like this on earliest pressings! Note! Minor light and isolated static/ticks heard in between some tracks only. I would grade the audio very near as mint in my opinion! (I don't think that you will find better very rich and vibrant through out)

Please note! I always add this disclaimer! Please allow for isolated static/ticks only, and not consistent through out the audio. Please remember that this is a genuine 43 year old record that would have originally been played on a 42 year old system.

The Labels

These are the original Transatlantic labels (Only Earliest press see photos)   The labels are rich in colour and are very clean , all text is fully readable. It is obvious to me that this vinyl has only had barely been played only by the fact that I find it hard to even see a spider mark at all around the spindle hole,   the spindle hole is free of any  ware and of course is perfectly round!

This is the original plain white paper sleeve no splits or tares just light creasing/staining/fading with age. features "Patent No"

The Cover

This Is The Original 1st issue Un-laminated Gate fold cover in absolutely stunning condition through out, concidering this is 43 years old and primarilay dark in color and unlaminated! No splits or tares.  all text is readable! There is very rubbing/creasing/storage wear with age and mostly is only noticed if looked for in my opinion  but  no real nasty creases to report, light corner bumping to mention.  No nasty ringware that is normally seen on these again, rubbing wear is slight! Light marks at the rear to mention. The cover has always been seperated from the vinyl and sleeve since purchased from new! The rear is also clean minor wear/rubbing only! The spine is square Unbeleivably rare like this! Graded at  least excellent in my opinion!
