ARGUABLY THEIR finest hour. This was the album that finally launched Stray into the British charts and earned them a gold album for their trouble. A consumate affair co-porduced by Martin Birch (Iron Maiden, Deep Purple) and a record that showcased Stray's unique alility to compose hard rock tracks embibed with progressive rock arrangements and great hooks. It was also a platform for guitarist Derek 'Del' Bronham to showcase his triumphant Hendrix influenced solos amidst some of the finest material of their career.

The opening track 'Our Song' is a blistering rocker quickly topped by 'After The Storm' complete with sound effects and a riff rght out of the Hendrix song book. The band gel like a well oiled machine and Steve Gadd's vocals display just that right touch of weiry road fever and sprightly youthfulness. 'The oddly named 'Move That Wigwam' tops side one off nicely setting the scene for the flip side which contains another four slices of great heavy but melodic hard rock touching all the right places - wonderfully arranged and showcasing just that right balance between toughness and delicacy.

Truly one of the best seventies hard albums from one of the eras most underated and wickedly overlooked acts. I can't recommend this album highly enough.

This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Superb clean and glossy condition. No spindle marks and no other signs of use - probably unplayed. Grades as MINT!

Cover: Again, no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated fully laminated gatefold cover - retains full gloss. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, no ring wear, no split seams and no creases. A little laminate lift on the top left of spine which is straight, stiff and uncrushed. Beautiful and impossible to find like this 44 years after release. Grades as shop fresh MINT-!
