ONE OF the most impressive early seventies hard rock bands around. I saw them many time from about '74 on wards and I must admit that they always delivered, especially guitarist Derek 'Del' Bronham who alongside Tony McPhee and Alvin Lee was just about the best thing on two legs at the time.
The bands first 3 or 4 albums are the ones to get especially this, their classic sophomore release. Signed to the primarily folk based label Transatlantic records it was a major shock to find that Stray were a rampaging hard rock band with their eye on the sort of prize that Cream and Led Zeppelin had cleaned up with a few years earlier.
Best described as super heavy psych the music is gut churning guitar fueled rock kicking off with an all time classic track the extended, super long 'Son Of The Father'. The guitar playing is totally unique showcasing Bronham's brilliant lightning fast technique to maximum effect. In addition the closing title song is another monster to fear.
An extremely tough album to find without the embossed cover having been torn or mutilated over the years. This one is really nice and in the vinyl is in superb shape!
This auction is part of a fantastic collection of seventies rock which I was lucky enough to acquire. Most of these records were stored with the utmost care and sparsely played. Some were possibly never played or may have been for just a handful of times.

Vinyl: Nice clean and shiny condition. No spindle marks and no other signs of any use. Grades as a shop fresh MINT!
Cover: Virtually no signs of use. Issued in a beautifully illustrated faux leather textured but extremely thin paper stock cover. Sharp corners, no dings, no bends, light ring wear, no split seams and one almost invisible crease. Spine is near perfect with original pinches top and bottom. Grades as top almost shop fresh MINT-!
