Description
The Telluride Sessions is a unique concept album recorded and released in 1989 by five world-class acoustic instrument musicians under the group name Strength in Numbers. The five members are: Sam Bush (Mandolin), Jerry Douglas (Banjo & Guitar), Mark O'Connor (violin & guitar), and Edgar Meyer (bass). The album is progressive bluegrass with jazz and classical music inflections. Each of these artists had well-established solo careers at the time and decided to come together to create this special album. Besides the stellar musicianship, the project is also notable because each song was composed by a different pair of the artists giving it a unique blend of creativity, and the impetus to the group’s name - Strength in Numbers.
CONDITION: Vinyl is clean and glossy no sign of wear or scratches, solid EX condition. The outer sleeve is also in EX condition but with very faint ring wear, a couple small creases and a tiny chip on spine. It has a promo sticker over the barcode. It plays well. Original plastic inner sleeve is VG+ with a few wrinkles that could likely be pressed flat if so inclined.
The record is an audiophile custom pressed on KC 569 Blend Premium Vinyl. This is a relatively rare album typically commanding high prices for quality copies.
