Description

Rare as hens teeth ORIGINAL UK copy of String Driven Things self titled debut album on the Concord label CON-S 1001.

The band are Chris and Pauline Adams along with John F. Mannion and this debut album is far from the sound of their later recordings.

The record is an irresistible pop folk psych blend with scatterings of mellotron, bongos, bells and fuzz!

.

As already said, this IS one of the rarest UK Folk items.

Condition is good for a record that's been knocking around for the last 43 years. There is creasing to the cover (see top right of front cover).

The vinyl itself is in pretty good condition, I have played it from start to finish this week to check it.

There are a few light surface marks that do not affect play. Sadly there is a scratch at the very beginning of side two that does cause a jump on the first couple of bars of the first track and there's a little background noise.

This doesn't really detract from the enjoyment of what is after all an extremely rare record.

I want to be clear though that this is not in mint, excellent or very good condition.

A fair reflection is GOOD for the vinyl and sleeve.

The last copy to appear on ebay (though in mint condition) sold for a whopping £277!

Below is a copy of how the records are graded:-

Mint: The record itself is in brand new condition with no surface marks or deterioration in sound quality. The cover and any extra items such as the lyric sheet, booklet or poster are in perfect condition.

Excellent: The record shows some signs of having been played, but there is very little lessening of sound quality. The cover and packaging might have slight wear and / or creasing.

Very Good: The record has obviously been played many times, but displays no major deterioration in sound quality, despite noticeable surface marks and the occasional light scratch. Normal wear and tear on the cover or extra items, without any major defects, is acceptable.

Good: The record has been played so much that the sound quality has noticeably deteriorated, perhaps with some distortion and mild scratches. The cover and contents suffer from folding, scuffing of edges, spine splits, discolouration etc..

Fair: The record is still just playable but has not been cared for properly and displays considerable surface noise: it may even jump. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Poor: The record will not play properly due to scratches, bad surface noise etc.. The cover and contents will be badly damaged or partly missing.

Bad: The record is unplayable or might even be broken, and is only of use as a collection filler.
