Description
About This Record. Here’s another exceptionally cool and rare and seriously important LP from my secret Vinyl Vault that just never turns up for sale. A bone-cruncher psych acid rock masterpiece from Texas . . . Josefus , an original very FIRST pressing of their LP entitled Dead Man on the private label Hookah Records from 1969 from Houston Texas, home of the 13th Floor Elevators of course. With original plain white (now brown) innersleeve. Keeper cover; the Seriously Important Hookah Labels are in EX+/better top condition (just a few spindle marks from careful play in the dark) but vinyl could use an upgrade if you can ever find another. (SEE Vinyl and Cover Details below.) This is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE heavy acid rock psych LPs! So why am I selling this? Well I have a nice SEALED copy that I just opened. Because I decided it was not financially prudent to own two copies, and that it was time to play my sealed copy that I bought many years ago for more than $1,000 dollars. NO RESERVE! for my former player copy! Have lots of fun and good luck and please, please SEE my detailed description of the vinyl and cover below in words, and attached in many pictures!
Please see details below and PLEASE CHECK my Feedback which shows you my grading, Cover/Vinyl, of other LPs I have recently sold and what the lucky people who are bought them think of them and our experience. The photos of the labels or cover list the songs and any possible details about the labels.
I offer full refund including shipping both ways (for USA and most foreign buyers who contact me with questions beforehand) in case for some wildly strange reason you might be unhappy with this purchase. Comes hand-cleaned on my VPI 16.5 Record Cleaning machine (hate those automated 17's) and placed in a new dust-free sleeve for your grandchildren. And at least one plastic sleeves for moisture protection (for you and me).
Cover Condition: Excellent Minus (EX-) Keeper cover. SEE all my detailed photos. Solid spine and seams, but top right corner has a crease/ding, lower right corner a smaller one. AND "Tom Battie III" wrote his name on the back cover in top led corner (see specific photo of this) Please See all the Photos I took. I didn't take them for fun and frolic.
Vinyl Condition: Super STRONG Very Good (VG). Plays most EX- better. Absolutely no sticks, no skips, no jumps. Lots of paper marks and only one feeler scuff about 1/16 of an inch long that makes 8-9 pops as noted below). Side One plays mainly EX but there are a couple of random pops, and light background noise. Side Two plays 1/3+ EX, and 1/6 VG and 1/3+ VG+/better. Only one feelable scratch that is one side two, and is VERY short/small, which makes 8-9 concentric pops on Track B1. The longest track B2 Dead Man, plays Strong VG, with lots of EX moments but there are some areas with background noise. But still a great listen. The background noise on this LP (for those that listen with headphones) was on the original; I just opened my sealed original that I bought for more than $1,000 a few years back, and it sounds same with some light background noise in the intros and stuff.
Labels.STRONG Excellent (EX+) better labels. Just light spindle marks. No tears, no writing, very nice! Please see photos of all labels)
Inserts: Comes with original plain white (now brown) paper inner sleeve, but no worries, this also comes cleaned on my VPI record cleaning machine and in a new sleeve so the old Dust does not reattach! Oh My Gosh!
Packaging. I clean all vinyl on my V.P.I. Record Cleaning Machine and place it in a new innersleeve so the old dust does not reattach; but I also include the innersleeve that came with the LP if it is the original. I separate the vinyl in its new sleeve after cleaning from the cover, and place the cover and the separately packed vinyl in at least one if not two plastic innersleeves that help protect against moisture damage during this cool records transition to your record collection. I use sturdy carboard containers with real corners and pack with at least one insert stiffener, and I place neon stickers on the front and back of the package indicating “Do Not Bend” and/or “Fragile” or something like that to help facilitate a safe passage.
Shipping and Payment. PayPal only. I ship promptly worldwide; sometimes the automatic eBay invoice does not have accurate shipping if you buy more than one LP, so if you are unsure email me and ask for an invoice. . . . I offer full refund on this record including shipping both ways, unless you live outside North America in which case I will refund you shipping one way unless I made a mistake which I sometimes do because I am only human.. CALIFORNIA RESIDENTS: Please add sales tax!
