Description
Saturn ESR 507 (matrix # ELSR-507-A / SR 507-B, plus ‘Ihnfinity Inc.’ is engraved on both sides) – light blue labels – original copy from 1969
LP is clean with only a few of the lightest paper-sleeve marks – looks barely played – there is some surface noise due to pressing, mostly in the second half of the title track, exactly as with other copies of this album – and a very light warp with no effect on playback (my turntable is very sensitive to that) – other sellers would have graded higher (and they wouldn’t be entirely wrong as the LP probably plays & sounds as when it was new), or test play only the beginning of each side and state ‘plays great’ but I prefer to give you a description as accurate as possible and downgrade it to EX- to EX condition, although I doubt you’ll find a better playing copy of this album. The cover has barely a hint of shelf wear (most of what looks like wear on the photo is in fact mostly due to pale, slightly irregular printing), no writing, edges clean and sharp with no splitting - very nice and about EX to EX+.
This LP became mainly known through its Impulse re-issue. The original Saturn edition was probably one single and very small pressing and copies are extremely rare indeed ! Also, there are 2 differences to the Impulse version : Yucatan, the 3rd track on side A, is a different, longer version, in fact it is a different composition, and the side B title-track’s end is edited differently from the Impulse version.
I only charge for the actual cost of shipping. Although at request I could try to package the LP under 500g and send by Expedited (like Priority) to the US or by regular Air Mail elsewhere, I believe this rare LP deserves packaging with a few extra layers of cardboard and I tend to highly recommend a shipping method with insurance & tracking. I can give several other, more affordable options to the winner but the best & safest seems Canada XPress Post at about $27 to the US and $67 to Europe, Japan or elsewhere.
