The Heliocentric Worlds Of Sun Ra Vol. 2

Format: LP Label: ESP-Disk' Condition: Used (the record has been opened and played only once, but has some commonly seen pressing defects, I assume the whole pressing is this way - there are multiple spots of light wear for whatever reason, possibly due to being packaged tightly in the pressing plant in a slightly abrasive white paper inner sleeve, and the inner label of side B has some ruffling - this may cause side A in other words to play through with a bit of movement on the turntable, but it did play through fine on my turntable with no skips and with only minor surface noise - the sleeve is in near mint condition) Shipping Terms: All of my prices include free USPS shipping, however many items you buy - if the package weighs 1 pound or less I will mail it 1st class - if it's over a pound I will upgrade it to Priority Mail

Note: the price for this record includes free, and expensive, USPS Priority Mail shipping

Reissue - 180-gram black vinyl - remastered

Volume two of Sun Ra's classic Heliocentric recordings from the 1960s. The astonishing sessions that went light years beyond "free jazz" improvisation to create a music of deeply-felt, explosive and gentle gesture made from sound itself without reference to previous notions of melody or harmony are now reissued with Sun Ra's original, self-created cover art. Recorded by Richard Alderson on Nov. 16, 1965, this set of tunes finds Sun Ra breaking ground by using synthesizers and having the Arkestra musicians double on percussion. More explorations of outer space by the spokesman for the space age.

Track Listing: The Sun Myth / A House Of Beauty / Cosmic Chaos
