Sun Ra and his Solar Arkestra Visits Planet Earth (Saturn Records `66 mono)

Cover: EX+ Very clean and tight but there is some discreet seam splitting at top and bottom by the pocket opening.
Disc: Has seen very little use, but the pressing quality is mediocre, plays with some surface noise but is still very enjoyable.
The very first song, "Planet Earth" sounds like it starts off with a skip, as if the needle jumps from the lead-in groove over the first split-second of the first note. This seems to be a manufacturing or mastering flaw, as I can neither see nor feel any imperfection at that point on the vinyl. On the Evidence CD reissue, the beginning of that song is odd as well, as if the very first split second was cut off as Ra starts the song with his electric piano. Can anyone confirm whether other original vinyl copies have this "problem?" Please note that I have clearly described this flaw, and will not accept returns based on this particular imperfection. Thank you for understanding.

In any case, this is a rare original pressing of one of Ra's finest LPs.

Recorded between late 1956 and 1958, the album was originally released on Ra's own Saturn label in 1966, and has since been reissued on CD by Evidence in 1992. In keeping with many Saturn releases, one side features cuts from the arkestra c.1958, whilst the other side comes from the 1956 sessions originally intended for Sound of Joy but still unreleased in 1966.

International orders under $200 will be sent first class mail. ($14.50 for 1st LP, $4.00 for each additional LP)
International orders over $200 will be sent REGISTERED mail. There is an ADDITIONAL cost of $11.50 for this, so an LP that sells at $200 or more will have a shipping charge of $26.00 ($14.50 for first class mail and $11.50 for registration.) It is known to be a very secure shipping method, requiring signatures from postal employees at various stops along the way, as well as your signature upon receipt of the package.
I no longer require Express mail for any destination, but it is recommended for more expensive records.
