Sunn O)))'s Coma Mirror - thanks to the skin-crawling howls of Malefic - is frightening and powerful. The instrumentation is dense with industrial grinding, screaming, and trance-inducing sounds of invisible zithers. Hearing is seeing; the malediction of Coma Mirror comes vividly alive as Hell peers back at us. Oh yes, don't worry, this track is only ten times scarier than Báthory Erzsébet.
With layered guitars and sparse percussion, Earth's melodious track progresses in minor key for 11 minutes, before the reassuring major key emerges. Like a beautiful vision of angels descending from the sky, the aura of goodness and calm washes over the listener, cleansing and ridding the body of all impurity and evil previously sustained.
LP is in great condition, making it all the way back from amsterdam with me.
