Description

RARE one from 1970 on the Bumpshop label, Sunshine's "Dreams Selection" b/w "Niki Hoeky".  From Fuzz Acid and Flowers:

A Detroit area 45 circa 1971. Niki Hoeky features lashings of waspish fuzz and wah-wah against a catchy boogie-rock backdrop. Even the brass in the backing doesn't spoil it all. Dreams Selection is in mellow prog/psych mode, like a soft Uriah Heep, with trilling keyboards and more waspish fuzz. A shame this appears to be their sole 45.

"Waspish" doesn't really even begin to describe just how LOUD this fuzz guitar is mixed up in the mix on both these sides!  "Niki Hoeky" bounces along on a funky, cajun-style stompin rhythm with some cool wah wah guitar accents, and then the MINDFRYING LOUD FUZZ comes in and literally SATURATES the mix - it's levels are so loud, it actually sounds like there's some distortion in the recording.  The flip, "Dreams Selection", has a trippier, stoned vibe with a lot of wild organ pyrotechnics that sound like a cross between Keith Emerson's work in the Nice and the moody psychedelic organ work Procol Harum did in "Song of a Dreamer".  Don't get too lost in the hazy floating vibe, though, because again, for 15 seconds during one of the breaks, that LOUD bumblebee fuzz guitar slices in and breaks up the party.  GREAT stuff here, both sides amazing, especially for fans of the FUZZ, and yes, it really IS a shame this appears to be their sole 45.  From 1970, original pressing on the Bumpshop label.  Vinyl plays VG++.  Winning bidder pays $3 shipping in the US, $4 to Canada, $6 everywhere else.  Paypal, Bidpay, cash, checks and money orders accepted.  Check out my other auctions for more obscure pop, psych and garage singles!
