SUNSHINE SISTERS OF AFRICA - african dish - taretone TTL 219
Under the radar Nigerian boogie funk surprise by this group of sister vocalists overseen by their father and uncle and backed by what sounds like a tight set of Nigerian funk session musicians including session drummer Ali Ibrahim, with two irresistible dancefloor grooves in the title track and 'Stop crying mother'. As a bonus there are Yoruba language covers of Michael Jacksons' 'Thriller' and of the Ghanaian evergreen 'Adjoa', and a dreamy reggae groover! Not sure why everybody and their mother are not all over this album. Now impossible to find album in near new condition.
