I use Goldmine Standard Catalog as a grading guideline and tend to get somewhat conservative in my approach. From my personal collection,  you are bidding on a very rare original 1958 pressing of Whole Lotta Shakin' by Carl Perkins on the Columbia label CL 1234 in mono and valued at $400 NM in the Goldmine book. The deadwax area reads XLP43875 1A on side 1 and XLP43876 1A on side 2. The thick cover is in very good plus condition for being 51 years old. there is no tape, scuff marks or tears. There is a small 2" seam split on the spine and a 1/4" split in the upper right corner. The liner notes in back are very nice and the greyscale photo of Carl Perkins is pretty cool. There is light scuffing in back, barely noticable. There is a small price sticker $2.50 and a name that can be removed. The glossy record is very clean with only needle marks evident on the labels. There are no scratches, only light line marks from minor wear. I played the record prior to listing and the sound was strong and very crisp. No sticks, heavy pops or skips.The songs include: Side 1, Whole Lotta Shakin' Goin On, Tutti Frutti, Shake Rattle & Roll, Sittin On Top Of The World, Ready Teddy, Long Tall Sally. Side 2, That's All Right, where The Rio De Rosa Flows, Good rockin' Tonight, I Got A Woman, Hey Good Lookin', Jenny. A wonderful listening experience, to say the least. Based on Goldmine, The Album cover is graded VG+ and the record VG+. (The record is in the original insert). There is no reserve.
