Description
“SWEET GEORGIA BROWN” – The Beatles & Tony Sheridan – German Single
Polydor 52 906 – 1960s
Record in very good condition. A few surface marks on both sides. A side plays well. B side is very scratchy.
Die-cut card sleeve with clear plastic inner in excellent condition. Label stuck on top right hand corner.
A-Side: Sweet Georgia Brown
B-Side: Nobody’s Child
The A-side is credited to “Tony Sheridan Vocal backed by “?””. This is actually the version recorded with The Beatles as the backing group and the lyrics are the re-recorded version which refers to The Beatles’ hair and their fan club. Did it avoid mentioning The Beatles to avoid paying them royalties? An unusual item.
The B-side is credited to “Tony Sheridan accompanying himself on his guitar” and that is correct. No one else is involved on this recording.
