SWELL MAPS / NIKKI SUDDEN - 2 ORIGINAL LETTERS (UK 1981) Set of 2 originals letter from Nikki Sudden of the Swell Maps to a fan/friend, handwritten in black marker pen - in the letter he informs ".. the retrospective L.P. 'Whatever Happens Next' is now out.." so although the letter is undated we can safely say that it is from 1981 In the letter Nikki Sudden talks bitter for Rough Trade "..lots of problems still with Rough Trade, that doesn't seem to be just for the Maps.." & "Jowe has had his L.P. refused - they're stupid -it is v.v. good - a lot better than I'd hoped he was going to be able to achieve.." The letter is written on the back of an old letter
SWELL MAPS / NIKKI SUDDEN - 2 ORIGINAL LETTERS (UK 1981)
Set of 2 original letters from Nikki Sudden of the Swell Maps to a fan/friend, handwritten in black marker pen - in the letter he informs ".. the retrospective L.P. 'Whatever Happens Next' is now out.." so although the letter is undated we can safely say that it is from 1981, year that the LP was released on Rough Trade (ROUGH 21, 1981).
In the letter Nikki Sudden talks bitter about Rough Trade "..lots of problems still with Rough Trade, that doesn't seem to be just for the Maps.." & "Jowe has had his L.P. refused - they're stupid -it is v.v. good - a lot better than I'd hoped he was going to be able to achieve.." and also mentions other activities of Swell Maps and related (Cult Figures, Daniel Miller of Mute etc).
The letter is written on the back of an old letter, although the original letter is circled and crossed-off you can read it if you hold the last page upside down "..enclosed are a couple of free tickets to see 'Watch With Mother'.."
The 2nd letter on green paper is shorter and was originally sent to the same person on a close date with the other.
A great memorabilia item from the late '70s private punk & new wave era, 100% genuine and in very nice condition.
