Eddie Graham Trio –
S’WONDERFUL JAZZ –
Wilson Audio Specialties W-8418 –
ABSOLUTELY STUNNING!
If you’ve ever heard Eddie Graham’s release HOT STIX from M&K, then you have a surprise in store with this release from Wilson Audio.
Note that recordist/loudspeaker designer David Wilson never misses when he attempts to capture music, and here, with a little help from electronics wizard John Curl, he captures the Eddie Graham Trio, “live” at Mario’s restaurant in Palm Desert, California.
Mr. Wilson’s aim here was to give you, the listener, the finest sense of actually “being there.”
And he brings you there, but let me forewarn you, that you will have to really crank this LP. Its levels are lower than most, the dynamics exceptional. But it will sound far too distant, and small, unless you give it the volume necessary to produce "bloom," which it does, wonderfully.
So, pull up a seat at Mario’s, and revel in CHEROKEE, S’WONDERFUL, THAT OLD FEELING, BALI HAI, JITTERBUG WALTZ, and YOU’VE CHANGED. You won’t be disappointed.
An extraordinary jazz release, one of the very best, in fact, here in a cover like new, record is pristine. Near mint in playback, perhaps better.
Worthy of the finest vinyl library, absolutely, positively not to be missed.
For other fine records, TAS picks and hard-to-finds, please see my complete list of offerings here on eBay.
Shipping and handling is $5 for up to 5 LPs shipped within the States. Internationally, $14 via airmail for the first LP, $3 each thereafter. (Canada is half that.) Boxes over 4 lbs., add another $5, because First Class is no longer available at that weight, just Priority Mail. Note, too, boxed sets of LPs require more postage.
