TCHAIKOVSKY PATHETIQUE SXL 2004 1958 ED1 DECCA STEREOPHONIC FIRST PRESS (ED1) WIDE SILVER BAND GROOVED VINYL LP IN BLUE BORDERED SCALLOPED SLEEVE
Bidders may notice that the following grading description is very similar to many other similar 1950’s classical LPs I currently have listed or am going to be listing over the next few weeks. This is due to the almost identical, practically ‘archive’ condition of the entire collection. Do check out my other listings if these are of interest. I am adding records every day.
Sleeve Condition: NEAR MINT: There is some laminate lifting from one corner of both foldback sections and near the leading edge on the rear of the sleeve. Otherwise the entire sleeve is as near to Mint as could be hoped for, unmarked, clean, with glowing colours and perfectly flat.
Inner Sleeve Condition: MINT: white, uncreased and free from signs of use or aging.
Record Condition: MINT (NEAR MINT): Very, very rarely, is it possible to give a record a Mint listing. If Mint means unplayed though, then this is Near Mint. If it is used to grade the quality of the vinyl and the absence of wear or even, I suspect, use, then this is Mint. There can be few copies of this in circulation in this kind of archive condition.
This is only one of many similar LPs I have currently listed or will shortly be listing. They are all from a small collection of early classical Decca SXL and EMI ASD Stereo and some Mono LXT and CSD LPs. All are in the most extraordinary, Near Mint condition. It would not be an exaggeration to describe the entire collection as in, ‘archive’ condition. In 25 years of record dealing and over 40 years of collecting myself, I have never come across records so perfectly cared for is almost perfectly preserved inner and outer sleeves.
