Description

This is another sale from a my collection of classical records, which includes early stereo rarities on Decca, Columbia, HMV and RCA.


Recording First Published 1958 UK stereo pressing on Decca records of SXL 2016 of Vienna Holiday. Hans Knappertsbusch conducting the Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra.


This is a Decca wide band 1st label, grooved with "Original Recording By" at 10 O' clock  The matrix numbers engraved on the run-out are: ZAL-3793-3E & ZAL-3793-3E (side 2 has ZAL-3793-2E stamped also but scratched out). Side 1 has CJ stamped in the run out. Side 2 has CJ and CA stamped. The outer sleeve is a scalloped flip back sleeve, laminated on the front.  The date code on the back cover in the bottom left hand corner is A.W. 59.3.R.  The inner sleeve is plain paper.



Grading

Visually graded the vinyl under a task lamp. Would visually grade  as VG,  there are sleeve/paper marks on both sides and spider marks around the spindle hole. It plays well on my Linn Sondek, no skips, jumps or repeated clicks. Side 1 has the occasional crackle, side 2 has a little crackle at the end. Sleeve is in excellent condition, a little creasing only. 


Note that record will be posted in a cardboard record mailer. Sleeve will be in a plastic sleeve, separate from the record and inner sleeve. Record and inner sleeve will be in a card sleeve.
