Hans Knappertsbusch conducting The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra "Vienna Holiday"
Decca (SXL 2016) Wide band "grooved" labels with "Original Recording" text
Sleeve has triangular Decca Stereophonic logo on front top left hand corner. The rear sleeve is plain white with black text.
Released in 1958, this is a very scarce original UK stereo pressing.
Vinyl - Ex
(There is a surface mark on side one which is about 2 inches in length and looks like someone has accidentally ran their fingernail across the vinyl. This mark is virtually inaudible, even in linking grooves and very quiet sections there is only an occasional light tick. There are a few other less obvious surface marks in places but the whole LP plays wonderfully. I have played this record through both sides and can honestly say, apart from a few very light ticks this is one of the nicest sounding SXL 50`s records I have had through my hands. There are no annoying loud or repetitive ticks so LP can be thoroughly enjoyed. )
The labels are in excellent condition,with no real problems to mention.
Sleeve - V. Good.
(Some laminate has come away from rear flipbacks and there is also some laminate creasing on front. Apart from that, this is a beautifully clean sleeve, rear being very white with no damage to text or graphics. Decca 50`s sleeves were very flimsy, this one has survived well and is in more than respectable shape.)
