MENDELSSOHN - VIOLIN CONCERTO.
BRUCH - SCOTTISH FANTASIA
SIR ADRIAN BOULT conducting THE LONDON PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA.
ORIGINAL issue on the ED1 Decca record label SXL 2026
Recorded at The Kingsway Hall, London between 6 & 8 May 1958 and released in September 1959
The record plays with a few tics at the start of side 1. Soft and not loud at all.
There is the odd bit of crackle but again nothing serious.
This is an awkward one to grade but I reckon VG (see gradings below).
Yes there is the odd background crackle.. but these are not intrusive
and after call the record is about 57 years old and probably never been
cleaned. I didn't find them intrusive at all.
This is quite common in these 1950's Decca stereo lps
There are NO loud pops and certainly no repeats or jumps.
There are surface marks.
Not one for the purist but perfectly listenable given the faults described above.
A collection filler until a better (and more expensive) example comes along.
Comes with original blue FFSS inner sleeve.
SLEEVE IS AS PER PHOTOS.
I play ALL my records in their entirety and do NOT rely on a guess as to how they sound
