Description
Puccini – La Fanciulla del West (The Girl of the Golden West) 3LP box-set 1958
Decca SXL 2039-41 Stereophonic FFSS – ED3 Wideband Ungrooved Labels. English press.
The cast includes Renata Tebaldi, Mario Del Monaco, Cornell MacNeil, Giorgio Tozzi with the Chorus and Orchestra of the Accademia di Santa Cecilia, Rome. The conductor is Franco Capuana.
Comes with the original 12†10 page insert as well as a complete 67 page libretto in English which I don’t think was originally part of the set and also the 12†insert which came with the later Decca Ace of Diamonds release of this opera, with full English and Italian libretto.
Condition:
All the records I list are listened too in their entirety and described and graded accordingly. I usually only use the grades EX or VG, sometimes with + or – added. Records graded as excellent play mostly clean, with only ever occasional light noise audible. A record graded VG will have some noise audible but this won’t be distracting – they still play very well. Grades lower than VG- are used to indicate when the noise begins to distract from the music. I use NM only occasionally to describe a record as near to perfect as you can get. I offer a full refund if not happy with my grading.
Vinyl: EX All the records play through excellently, mostly clean with no loud clicks or pops, or recurring clicks caused by scratches. There are light ticks and flecks audible here and there occasionally and a few very light clicks in the second half of side 4. The labels are in excellent condition with all the text bright and unworn and just a few spindle marks.
Sleeve: EX- There is a tiny tear and the last remnants of a sticker on the front as well as a small amount of light wear around the edges and a bit of scuffing to the back. The text on the spine is still bright and clean, although very slightly faded. The original Decca inner sleeves are in excellent condition.
Inserts: EX- The inserts are in excellent condition, although there is some light marking to the front of the English libretto.
I will send box-sets in good quality card cruciform mailers with extra card protection.
