Description
This is a UK STEREO 2-LP set from 1959, on Decca, by Ernest Ansermet conducting L'Orchestre De La Suisse Romande; "The Nutcracker" (Tchaikovsky) (SXL 2092 - 3). This is ED1 - LP1 has a pancake label, and LP2 has a grooved label. Both have the "Original Recording By" credit at 10 o'clock.
PLEASE READ THE CONDITION OF RECORDS CAREFULLY, PARTICULARLY RECORD 1. THIS IS NOT AN IDEAL ARCHIVE COPY.
CONDITION OF COVER: VG (C) (top edge of front cover tatty, and some laminate flaking on the back cover. The cover is intact - nothing is missing, and the internal booklet has remained in decent condition).
CONDITION OF RECORDS: RECORD 1: G+ (D+) (A few non-sounding marks on both sides. SIDE 1: Some crackling and repetitive tics caused by some small scratches for the first 10 minutes. Light background noise and some repetitive soft tics thereafter for the next 10 minutes. SIDE 4: Some crackling for the first 3 minutes. Light background noise and a few soft repetitive tics thereafter). RECORD 2: VG+ (C+) (SIDE 2: There is a tic for the first 2 mins. About 5 repetitive tics, each lasting between 4 - 10 revs. SIDE 3: A few repetitive tics and a couple of intermittent pops). There is no actual deterioration in sound quality, which still rings through loud and clear on all 4 sides.
