Description
Decca Records stereo three disc boxed set SXL 2129/31, black label grooved wideband FFSS label discs, made in England. Early red box with blue-edged cover slick, which is very hard to find. Disc 2129 is an ED0 "pancake" pressing, heavy vinyl with flat edge. These discs are very rare on Decca issues. The other two discs are ED1. All have "Original Recording by..." at 10 o'clock. Stampers are 1K 2E 1E 1K 2E 1E. Four page insert included. Also includes the folio sized complete libretto, which did not originally come with the set. It had to be purchased separately, and it is quite rare to find it with this set.
Verdi, Il Trovatore, complete opera, with Renata Telbaldi, Mario del Monaco, and Giulietta Simionato. Alberto Erede conducts L'Orchestre du Grand Theatre, Geneve, and the chorus of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino. See pics for complete cast and program details.
Discs NM- to NM, just a few faint sleeve marks, which do not sound, play-graded, box VG, some wear around the edges, one split corner..
