VERDI - Aida (Decca Stereo UK - 1960) SXL 2167-8-9
Original first UK pressing of Verdi's Aida from 1960.
The Vienna Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by
Herbert Von Karajan. Solists: ZENATA TEBALDI, CARLO BERGONZI, CORNELL MACNEIL & GIULIETTA SIMIONATO.This triple LP set in the red wallet sleeve was TAS listed.
Condition of LPs: sides 1, 3 and 5 are near mint, side 2 has one small superficial mark, side 4 has six tics at the beginning of the side, might play better after a cleaning. Side 6 looks vg+ with a few superficial hairlines but plays fine. Condition of the sleeve: The red heavy weight plastic sleeve is in vg+ condition as there is a small tear at the top right and top left corners. The 30 page front libretto in LP size is in fantastic condition with just a small corner crease.

Grading Standards
Near Mint (nm) Almost New. Might have a slight paper scuff or one non-sounding hairline. Plays with no noise that is due to visible imperfections. Highest grade I use.
Very Good++ (Vg++) Very Clean Records, Well taken care of. Just a couple light scuffs or hairlines. Plays extremely well.
Very Good+ (Vg+) Well taken care of. A few scuffs, possibly a few light scratches and marks. Minimum of distracting noise.
Very Good (Vg) Not especially well taken care of, but not abused either. Light scratches, scuffs and marks. Plays with some background noise but is still enjoyable and collectible. Some gloss. I normally do not sell records in this condition
